Update: on arrival, Mackay weighed 31 grams. She now weighs a nice 291 grams, eats Reptile Salad and any insect/worm offered!
Mackay arrived at CoRHS at the end of January 2023, exhibiting swollen joints and no feeding interest. We first made sure he had plenty of UVB to correct any start of MBD. We fed him Critical Care and Carnivore Care liquid diets to make sure he had adequate nutrition and hydration. He was pretty quick to learn to eat again, and we introduced him to Reptile Salad and small amount of insects.
On arrival, Mackay weighed only 31 grams; currently his weight is 47 grams. As a young animal, he still needs encouragement to eat salad which we manage by gentling placing him in front of the good stuff each morning.
